My 10 Favorite Vegan Drinks at Starbucks

If you're anything like me, you love to get a fun drink at Starbucks! When I became vegan, it changed what I could get at Starbucks, and I didn't know what the vegan drinks were. Most of the drinks I got had milk in them, or other milk products. I had to change what I got, but I love my current selection of drinks more than my old non-vegan drinks. I wanted to share what I get now, so I compiled a list of my favorite vegan Starbucks drinks!

1. The Pink Drink

This drink is a Strawberry Acai Refresher (strawberry, passion fruit, acai, and green coffee extract) with coconut milk and freeze-dried strawberries. This drink is super refreshing and has some caffeine. A grande size is 140 calories and has 50mg of caffeine. You can order this drink by just saying you want the Pink Drink.

2. The Purple Drink

The purple and pink drinks are my absolute favorite drinks! The purple one isn't as easy to order though. Tell the barista you want a Passion Tea with soy milk instead of water, and add classic and vanilla syrup. They say that it already comes with the classic syrup, but I've noticed that if I don't order it that way, it isn't sweet at all. The Iced Passion Tango Tea that is the base for this drink is an infusion of hibiscus, lemongrass, and apple. Since this isn't a normal menu item, there aren't really nutrition facts for it. It does not appear to have caffeine though.

3. Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher

I fell in love with this drink when they first rolled it out while I was in college. It's perfect for a hot summer day. This drink has fruit juice, green coffee extract, and freeze-dried blackberries shaken together. A grande size has 70 calories and 45-50mg of caffeine.

4. Toffee Almond Hot Chocolate

I first saw this drink advertised around Christmas and it was so much better than I was expecting! It has almond milk, mocha sauce, and toffee flavoring. Make sure you order without whipped cream for it to be vegan. I'm hoping that one day Starbucks will have a vegan whipped cream option, but for now, no whip.

This drink isn't on their menu anymore, but they still have everything to make it. Since this isn't on their menu, I can't see nutrition facts for it, but I can for just an almond milk hot chocolate without the toffee syrup. Without the toffee, a grande of this drink is 240 calories and has 25mg of caffeine.

5. Iced Passion Tango Tea Lemonade

This drink has the same tea as the purple drink. All it has in it is the tea, lemonade, and sweetener. It's much more light than the other drinks I've talked about. I've also had it without the lemonade, but the lemonade is the way to go. A grande has 90 calories and no caffeine.

6. Strawberries and Cream Frappuccino with Soy Milk

This drink can be made vegan using soy milk, almond milk, or coconut milk. I've found that the soy milk makes it taste the creamiest. Almond milk makes it feel more water-based. Also, make sure you don't get whipped cream on this one. This drink doesn't have caffeine, and Starbuck's website doesn't have nutritional info unless you want it made with whole milk.

7. Mango Dragon Fruit Refresher with Coconut Milk

We just tried this new summer drink and were very impressed with how good it was. It has a mango and dragon fruit refresher base with freeze-dried dragon fruit bits. It usually comes mixed with water, but we got ours with coconut milk. Kevin Smith from Buzzfeed recommends this and calls it the DragonDrink. A size grande of this drink has 45-55mg of caffeine and has no artificial colors.

8. Violet Drink

The Violet Drink is the Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher mixed with coconut milk. I can't believe I've never heard of this until recently! A grande has 110 calories and 45mg of caffeine. This drink is pretty refreshing and fun to get in the summer. It's not my absolute favorite drink they have, but It's a great vegan option and I do like to mix up what my order is.

9. Mango Black Tea Lemonade

The Mango Black Tea Lemonade has been a favorite of mine and Adam's for many years. It's just as it sounds, it has mango syrup, black tea, and lemonade. A size grande has 25-30mg of caffeine in it.

10. Blended Strawberry Lemonade

The Blended Strawberry Lemonade is super refreshing in the summer. It is strawberry lemonade and ice blended together. Pretty simple and super delicious! I can't find any nutrition facts about it on Starbucks website. They're advertising it for the summer though, so I think they might update the website soon.

Those are my 10 favorite vegan drinks that I've tried so far! Sometime soon I'd like to get the Iced Pina Colada Tea. The name is enough for me to want to try it, but the ingredients also sound amazing. It has Iced Pineapple Black Tea and coconut milk. The grande has 80 calories and 25mg of caffeine.

I love that Starbucks has so many vegan-friendly drinks. I'll be updating this as soon as I try the Iced Pina Colada Tea, so stay tuned to hear how I like it!

Vegan Vietnamese Food in Utah

Recently, we were in the mood to try a new restaurant and we decided on Vegan Bowl in West Jordan, Utah. Vegan Bowl has Vegan Vietnamese Cuisine. The menu is pretty big and I couldn't find it online, so we took a while to figure out what we wanted when we got there. They have a lot of appetizers, entrees, and drinks.

We decided to share two entrees and a drink. Before we went I saw a picture on their Instagram of a ramen dish, so we knew we wanted one of those and we also wanted to try pho since neither of us had ever had it before.


We've tried a few things on the menu including the the Stir Fry Ramen with Veggies, Veggies Pho, fresh spring rolls, egg rolls, and a Thai Tea with Boba.

The Stir Fry Ramen with Veggies has ramen noodles, a special house sauce, broccoli, carrots, bean sprouts, onions, and cabbage. This was our favorite thing we had! The noodles had a great flavor and we loved how many vegetables were in the dish.

The Veggies Pho is a noodle soup that has rice noodles, broccoli, carrots, and napa cabbage, onions, cilantro, and scallions, then it comes with a side plate of bean sprouts, basil, jalapeno, and lime. I love the texture of rice noodles, and these ones were so soft and good. This dish is very warm and comforting. Perfect for a cold winter day.

The Thai Tea had tea and coconut milk, then we added the boba to it. We loved this drink and the boba was much softer and better than other boba we've had in the past. It was very refreshing and a fun addition to the ramen and pho.

Adam loves the egg rolls. They're fried and come with a sweet and sour sauce. My favorite is the fresh spring rolls. I love all the veggies in them and the spicy peanut sauce they come with.

We've already gone back to Vegan Bowl again and loved it just as much as the first time. The second time we both got the Stir Fry Ramen with veggies, then we also got a Thai Tea and a Pina Colada smoothie. It was all really good.

Vegan Bowl is located at 8672 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84088. They are open Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm. They don't have a website yet, but said they are currently making one. We loved how big the portions were and will definitely be going here a lot!
