5 Vegan Snack Bars You'll Absolutely Love Eating

Natural vegan bars

I received goods in exchange for this post but all opinions are completely my own.

We tried some vegan snack bars for the first time this week and we can't get enough of them! The brand that makes them is Hope Bars. I have a hard time finding vegan snacks that are easy for on the go, but these ones are great.

They taste like rice crispy treats with extra flavor. They're super soft and ooey gooey. My husband Adam who's not a vegan, is even more obsessed with them than I am. They taste great and are really satisfying.

On top of tasting great, they're also not bad for you. These vegan snacks are made with simple, clean ingredients. They're 100% plant based, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO verified, and have no refined sugar.

We got a box of samples that came with the following 5 flavors.

1. Chocolate with Coconut

This one was my favorite. The chocolate flavor was just right. It wasn't over-powering and tasted really good.

2. Almond Coconut

This one was so soft and chewy. We loved the texture so much. The flavor is really good, but pretty rich.

3. Peanut Butter Chocolate

4. Dark Cherry Chocolate

This one has little cherry bits that add a fun texture. The chocolate and cherry flavors go really well together.

5. Antioxidant Power Berry

This bar has dried blueberries in it that were fun to eat.

They also have another flavor called Maple Cinnamon that we didn't get. We'll have to try that one soon though. A case of each flavor on its own comes with 10 bars and costs $36. You can subscribe and save 15% on a monthly box though, making it $30.60.

The sampler box comes with 1 or 2 bars of each of the 6 flavors. You can see the breakdown of how many you get on their website. It is a great way to try the flavors without committing to a whole box before knowing if you like them or not. The sampler box costs the same as the boxes I talked about before.

Hope Bars has free shipping on orders of $50 or more. The bars are made in small batches in New Hampshire. They also give 10% of proceeds to charity.

We love finding companies that care about using clean, all natural ingredients. It's so nice that these ones don't have any food coloring, refined sugar, or high fructose corn syrup.

Even Stevens Sandwiches in Utah: Vegan Options

Last updated: 1/5/2020

Adam and I had been kind of wanting to try Even Stevens for a while, and the other day we finally did. They have a lot of sandwiches and I love that their menu is online. I just wish it showed what was vegan, like the menu in the store.

jackfruit torta
Jackfruit Torta
They have two vegan sandwiches on the menu. The Jackfruit Torta and the Hummazing Vegan. The Jackfruit Torta has a sweet bun with jackfruit carnitas, pepitas (pumpkin seeds), avocado, salsa morita, radish, lettuce, pickled onions, and a house vinaigrette.

Related Content: The Best Vegan Pesto Sauce Recipe

I usually get the Jackfruit Torta, but without the jackfruit and pickled onions. It is so tasty and unlike any other vegan sandwich I've had before! The bread that it's on is really good. My favorite thing about it though is the salsa morita. It's pretty spicy, but adds so much flavor that I love.

Hummus vegan sandwich
Hummazing Vegan
The Hummazing Vegan has a wheat ciabatta bread with roasted red pepper hummus, slow roasted tomato spread, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, red onions, arugula, and house vinaigrette. It's so delicious and I love how it's packed with fresh veggies.

Vegan breakfast burrito
The New Morrissey
Another vegan option on their menu is the New Morrissey. It's a vegan breakfast burrito and it's quickly becoming one of our favorite things to order here. It comes with jackfruit, tots, salsa fresca, roasted veggies, and a house made vegan garlic aioli. I prefer to get it without the jackfruit. It's so tasty. They serve breakfast all day, so you don't have to get there by a certain time to order this.

With your meal you get the choice of a side salad or chips with your meal. I always get the chips. The side salad comes with mixed greens, tomatoes, and the house vin. It's good, but too much house vin since it's already on my sandwich.

Even Stevens has a lot of locations here in Utah. They're in downtown Salt Lake City, Sugar House, Cottonwood Heights, Draper, Ogden, Provo, Logan, and St. George. We go to the one in Draper and it has free Wi-Fi! Our only complaint is that there's always someone playing live music and it's very loud. Like so loud that it's hard to even talk to each other. Other than that, we love it though!

Something they do that's really cool is their donation program. For every sandwich they sell, they donate one to a non-profit organization.

Even Stevens has become one of our favorite places in Utah to get vegan food! Follow them on Instagram and use #eattogive to share your pictures.

The Perfect Place To Buy Hand Lettered Paper Goods

Hello sunshine mug

I received goods in exchange for this post but all opinions are completely my own.

I found the cutest shop recently called Sparrow Lettering Co. Jenna, the owner, makes hand lettered paper goods and mugs.

The writing that she uses is absolutely beautiful and so pleasant to look at. She also adds pretty color touches to some of them, like flowers around the writing. She is so talented and makes great products.

She even wrote my address in cute handwriting on the box that she sent it in! I was so impressed and it made getting the mail a little more fun.

She sells everything on her Etsy Store and currently has 5 products available to order. The shop has one mug and four paper products.

Cute mug for women

When I first saw her shop I instantly fell in love with the Hello Sunshine Mug. It is all white, then on one side says "Hello Sunshine" in black lettering. Hello is written in a simple, thin handwriting and sunshine is written in gorgeous cursive with a heart for the dot of the I.

I love how simple and clean looking it is. It's so cute and the quality is great too. It's the perfect size. Also, it's just $14. The mug is handmade, ceramic, and made to order.https://morganboulevard.blogspot.com/2018/05/even-stevens-sandwiches-in-utah.html It's cute enough that it's fun to use to drink out of, or it's cute to put on display in your kitchen as home d├ęcor.

Mother's day card

Another thing Jenna sent me from her shop was the Floral Happy Mother's Day Card. This card is just $4. When you shop for cards in stores, they're easily $4 or more for something cute, so I thought this was a good deal.

This card is really pretty. It's white and says Happy Mother's Day on it in black writing. There are a bunch of pink flowers and green leaves surrounding the writing. It's handmade and made to order. It's 4.5"x5.5" and has a shimmer finish on it.

The other products in her shop are a graduation card, a custom art print, and a print of a verse from Proverbs.

Sparrow Lettering Co ships their items out within 3-5 business days, so you'll get your order pretty quickly.

Follow her on Instagram @sparrowletteringco to see more of her pretty artwork!

Mystic Hot Springs

Hot springs bathtub

To celebrate our five year wedding anniversary we decided to head down to Mystic Hot Springs in Monroe, Utah. It was so relaxing and we're so glad that we went! It feels like a blast from the past, like you went back in time to the 1970s.

It was about 2.5 hours away from us, so we were able to go there and back in the same day. Be prepared to lose cell service for some of the drive. We took screenshots of the directions beforehand to make sure we knew where to go.

Central utah hot springs

It's located in a little town called Monroe. When you get there, you'll first go into the office to pay for your tickets. It's $16 per person and your pass will get you in for 6 hours. You really don't need it for that long there though.

Related Content: 55 Fun Things To Do In Utah This Summer

There are bathrooms and changing rooms in the office, as well as a gift shop. I hate being in the car in my swimsuit for a long time, so I recommend changing when you get there. Don't forget to also bring a towel. They have some you can rent, I think for $2, but I definitely prefer to bring my own.

Hot springs in Monroe utah

They have the main hot spring that you'll see first. It has a big orange rock with a waterfall down it. That's how the hot water gets into the pool.
It's only about 2-3 feet deep, which we loved. We were about to just hang out in it without having to swim around the whole time. The water was the perfect temperature. It was warm enough that you didn't get cold, but it also wasn't so hot that you would overheat and have to sit out of it to cool off.

Mystic hot springs bathtub

From there, you can go up a hill a little and you'll find 6 bathtubs scattered around up there. When we were there not all 6 had water in them. I'm not sure why or if that's normal, but only 4 had water. The bathtubs are really big and can easily fit 2 people in them.

The water in the bathtubs isn't as warm as the main hot spring. We wished that it would have been just a little hotter, but it was still really nice. 3 of the tubs are in a row, but the other 3 are more spread out.

Red rock hot tub

We loved how clean everything was. They clean the main pool once a week and the bathtubs everyday.

Mystic Hot Springs is a must-do activity in Utah. We had so much fun and felt very relaxed after. We spent about 2 hours here and can't wait to go back for another visit.

5 Home Decor Items Your Home Should Have In 2018

geometric plant pots

I received goods in exchange for this post but all opinions are completely my own.

The other day Adam and I went to the cutest store in our area. It's called Rod Works and it's a unique home decor shop. The location we went to was in Lehi, Utah off the freeway. They have so many different home decor items for each room of your house.

Rod Works is very unique because each item is handmade. Everything has a distinct finish and could be a little different from the other items. They are made to look antique and imperfectly worn.

home decor items

The store has several different rooms that all have different decorations from the last. One section is kitchen decorations, then they also had 4th of July. Most of it was not specific to one room in your house or one theme though. They have tons of pots, vases, signs, and artificial plants. They also have a lot of different styles to fit your needs. Some pieces are more farmhouse while others are on the boho side.
We had such a hard time deciding exactly what we wanted to get because we loved so much of it. Thankfully they have great prices though, so we didn't have to limit ourselves too much. I was always surprised that the price wasn't higher when I would look at something. It's really great to have affordable options that are super cute and nice.

Here are five interior home decorations each home or apartment should have in 2018:

Small pots for succulents

1. Geometric Pots on a Tray

We love everything we got, but our absolute favorite is the bohemian geometric pots on a tray. It comes with 3 different pots that all fit on a small tray together. They each have different black and white designs painted onto them. These are so unique and fun. The best thing is that each pot has a small hole in it, so you can put live plants in it. It works well for watering them because the tray underneath will catch the excess water.

We already had one small succulent that needed a bigger pot, so we replanted that one and saw this as an opportunity to get more! We headed over to Cactus and Tropicals and got two more succulent plants for the other pots. We love how it turned out! The colors of the plants are very complimentary to the planters.

air plant hanger

2. Tillandsia Hanger

The second thing we chose was the tillandsia hanger. I saw one of these a few months ago at another store and hesitated to get it. When I went back to get it, it was sold out. Then I began my online search for one and didn't find anything I liked enough to get. So you can imagine how ecstatic I was to see that Rod Works had them!

They had a few other designs in these as well. I knew I wanted to put an air plant in mine and this shape looked like it would work best for it. I got the air plant in it at Cactus and Tropicals as well. It would even be cute without anything in it though. I love the gold color of it. It's so modern, yet it works with most styles of decor.

Black and gold I love us sign

3. I Love Us Sign

My heart melted a little when I saw this beautiful "I Love Us" sign, because I really do feel that way about Adam and I. I knew this sign would be the perfect addition to my nightstand. The gold writing and hearts tie in so well with the gold tillandsia hanger.

I also love the size of it. They had other cute signs this same size that I also loved. They were all similar in the colors they used, so you could put more than one in your home and they would tie together really well.

Brown resin owl

4. Resin Owl

We have quite the love for anything that has to do with animals, so it was a no-brainer that we were getting the resin owl. Adam saw it first and was like "we need this". How could I disagree? I mean, this owl is precious. I love how he's small enough to not take over a room, but he's big enough to still be somewhat of a statement piece.

silver decorative ball

5. Galvanized Ball

The last thing we decided to get was the galvanized ball. We babysit some kids who have similar ball decorations in their house, so we loved that it reminded us of them. This is the type of decor that you can pair with anything. It is so charming and has a silver/pewter color that will match any other decoration you have.

We had a really positive experience shopping at Rod Works in Lehi. The worker was super nice and helpful. I especially loved that she was friendly, but wasn't following us around trying to get us to buy everything. As of right now, you can only shop in store, not online. They have locations in Utah, Nevada, California, Colorado, and Arizona.

I highly suggest following them on Instagram @rodworks and on Pinterest. I like following them on Instagram to see all of their new inventory. Their pictures are really fun on Pinterest and are great inspo for your "Home" board. They also have a really helpful section on their website called Decorating Tips.

I'm no Nate Berkus, so that's exactly what I need. Something else they do that's really cool is their free in-store decorating help. If you take in a photo of your house or what you're looking for, they'll help you and give you suggestions on what would look good.

I know this won't be our last trip to Rod Works. They have a lot of items that would be great gifts. We'll definitely be back to shop for Adam's mom and my step mom in the future. I know they'll love this unique decor just as much as we do.

The items we got have really freshened up our place. I can't help but smile when I see the beautiful pots with plants or the owl that adds so much flair. I can't wait to have a whole house to decorate one day. I know it'll have a lot of pieces from Rod Works.

6 Must-Have Travel Essentials for Women

Womens travel guide

I received goods in exchange for this post but all opinions are completely my own.

With summer right around the corner, everyone is getting ready for summer vacations. We have a few coming up that I can't wait to blog about! I'm an over-planner, so you better believe I'm doing tons of research and making packing lists for each vacay.

Here are the 6 summer vacation travel essentials for women that I can't travel without this summer:

1. Clio Electric Shaver

One of the things that's definitely on my list is my new Clio Palmperfect Electric Shaver with USB. This women's electric shaver works wonders! I hate shaving my legs, like most girls. Most of the time when I want to, I forget in the shower and have to wait another day. My Palmperfect shaver works wet or dry though! So if I don't shave in the shower, it's not like I missed my chance for the day. I have only used my shaver dry, so I don't have any tips for using it wet. I did read on their website to only use it dry if you're charging the USB though.

I love how the Clio Palmperfect shaver is battery powered and super light weight. The one I have can be used with AAA batteries or you can charge it through the USB port. The USB charger does not come with it though. They have different colors and patterns that I think are so fun and feminine. The one I got is blue with green, aqua, and blue polka dots.

Electric razor for women

It shaves pretty close to the skin and I can get the job done relatively fast. I wouldn't say the shave is quite as close as it is with a razor, but it's close enough that you can't see any hair. I just noticed that I could feel a little. It's definitely much easier than shaving with a razor though, so I would say that it's worth it. You can use it on your legs, bikini line, face, or underarms.

Related Content: 12 Exciting Things To Do In Oahu

You can use their store locator to find a store nearby that sells Clio products. The stores near me that had them in the Salt Lake area were Target and Walmart. You can get the battery operated Palmperfect Electric Shaver from Walmart's website for $8.82. So affordable and such a good deal!

Affordable electric shaver

2. Sun hat

I always take a sun hat with me on tropical vacations because I burn so easily. These are cute and so necessary.

3. Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a must because summer is sunny and bright. You'll probably be in the car a lot and these will get a lot of use.

4. Passport

A passport is required for international travel. Make sure yours isn't expired, even if you think it's not. It's better to just check and be safe.

5. Lotion

I use a lot of lotion already, but even more on vacation. I'm constantly washing my hands, which dries them out like crazy. If you get sunburnt, you'll be super grateful to have lotion on hand.

6. GoMacro protein bars

My favorite GoMacro protein bar is the peanut butter one. Their bars are all vegan and I love traveling with them. There's not always vegan food options on planes, so I always make sure I have a few of these in my carry-on.

It's the worst when you finally get to your vacation destination and realize you forgot something. We've all been there where we had to take time away from the fun to head to the local drug store and hope you can find what you need. Save yourself from doing that and start making your packing lists now.

I'm so excited to take my shaver on my trips, especially the beach ones! Give Clio a follow on Instagram at @cliostyle and see more of their products.
