Last Course Dessert Studio Vegan Options

I received goods in exchange for this post but all opinions are completely my own.

Adam and I were so excited to get dessert at Last Course! I noticed it in a shopping center near us and just assumed they wouldn't have vegan options, but I looked up their menu anyway and saw that they do have vegan desserts! I love that it's becoming easier to find vegan desserts in Utah.

Not only do they have vegan options, but they have a lot of them and they're amazing. You would never know that the ice creams are non-dairy. They were creamier than any dairy ice cream I ever had before going vegan.

We decided on three desserts them to share. Here's what we got:

1. Vegan Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream

A pint of Last Course's vegan peanut butter chocolate chunk ice cream

Creamy peanut butter ice cream with smooth, rich chocolate chunks. It is gluten free and doesn't have added sugar. This was my favorite ice cream we tried! I love peanut butter, but not with a ton of chocolate and this one had the perfect balance. We got a whole pint of this one and I can imagine it won't last long.

2. Vegan Apple Cobbler Ice Cream

This ice cream is cream based with vegan apple cobbler mixed into it. It has a strong flavor that we both loved. The little apple chunks are so delicious and I loved how there were a lot of them. We'll be back for another scoop of this soon!

3. Vegan Coconut Cream Pie

This pie consists of a chocolate coated coconut shell that has no sugar, a cream pie filling, toasted almonds, coconut, and chocolate drizzled nougat. Around here, we love pie, so this was a big hit! It had so many different textures that were fun to eat. We loved how the cream pie filling was so creamy and smooth.

Those were the ones we tried, but they have even more.

4. Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream

Smooth dairy-free vanilla ice cream that is gluten-free and has no added sugar. We did a taste test of this one and thought it was really good and packed with flavor.

5. Vegan Waffle

Hot waffle with coconut chocolate nougats, naturally sweetened caramel, toasted almonds, and chocolate. We'll definitely be trying this soon!

I absolutely love how their menu makes it super clear whether an item is vegan or not. The vegan things all had "vegan" in the name and they were written in green. Why can't all restaurants do this?

Last Course makes the ice cream in house and tries to use local ingredients when possible. I love that! They have two locations in Utah right now. One in Draper Peaks and another in City Creek in Salt Lake. They both have the same hours, which are Monday-Thursday 11am-10pm and Friday and Saturday 11am-11pm.

Give them a follow on Instagram @lastcourse_ to see more pictures of their delicious desserts. If you have any questions, they're really good about answering them quickly for you there.

Before I was vegan, ice cream was one of my favorite things to eat, but when I went vegan I pretty much stopped eating ice cream. So many vegan ice creams aren't very creamy, seem water-based, and just aren't that good tasting. After going to Last Course, I think I'll be back to eating more ice cream! It's that good!
