Costa Vida Vegan Options

Last Updated On June 5, 2021 by Elizabeth Morgan Leave a Comment

I loved Costa Vida back when I was vegetarian, and thankfully I didn’t have to stop eating there when I became vegan. This post will guide you through all of the Costa Vida vegan options.

Their menu has burritos, salads, enchiladas, tacos, nachos, quesadillas, baja bowls, kids meals, sides, drinks, and desserts.

Not all of this can be made vegan, but a lot of it can be. Their salads have always been my favorite. I think the salads and tacos are the easiest to make vegan.

These are all of the Costa Vida ingredients that are vegan:

  • Tomatillo cilantro sauce
  • Black beans
  • Pinto beans
  • Fajita veggies
  • Cilantro lime vinaigrette
  • Mango dressing
  • Pico
  • Salsa fresca
  • Mango salsa
  • Guacamole
  • Lettuce
  • Cabbage
  • Flour tortilla (not vegan when crisped on flat grill)
  • Wheat tortilla (not vegan when crisped on flat grill)
  • Corn tortilla (not vegan when crisped on flat grill)
  • Chips
  • Strips

Sadly, Costa Vida does not have vegan shredded cheese and their refried beans are not vegan. I really wish that their cilantro lime rice was vegan, but it has dairy in it.

If you need to know more about their nutrition info and allergen info, you can see that here.

If you’re want to make a salad, here’s what I like to order:

  • Flour tortilla
  • Black beans
  • Fajita veggies
  • Lettuce
  • Pico
  • A little salsa fresca
  • Guacamole
  • Cilantro lime vinaigrette
  • Strips
  • Lime (I love having fresh lime juice on my salad)

I also really love getting their chips, guacamole, and salsa fresca. The salsa fresca can be spicy, but it has so much flavor.

I’m so glad there are fast casual Mexican restaurants like this so that us vegans can still get our Mexican food fix! I love how fresh everything on their menu is and I can’t get enough of their soft, delicious tortillas.

If you know a Costa Vida lover, consider getting them a Costa Vida gift card for their next birthday or for Christmas. I know I always love getting restaurant gift cards!
