My husband and I love reading kids Halloween books to our twins in September and October! This list has all of our favorite ones on it. These are fun to read to kids of all ages and in any grade.
Kids Halloween Book #1 - Spooky Things
Spooky Things is a Dr. Suess board book. It has a fun sing songy pattern to it. We love it because it has Thing 1 and Thing 2 in it.
2. Happy Halloween, Little Critter!
This is the first Halloween children's book that we got. It's paperback and has flaps to lift up that are fun. The author is Mercer Mayer. We love the illustrations in this book.

3. Pete the Cat: Trick or Pete
Pete the Cat: Trick or Pete by James Dean is a cute and spooky read. Pete goes trick or treating. Lift the flaps to find out what's behind each door. It doesn't take a lot of time to read this book.
4. Little Blue Truck's Halloween
We love the original Little Blue Truck book, so this Halloween one just had to be added to our fall library. It's written by Alice Schertle. Shop the original Little Blue Truck here.
5. Peppa's Giant Pumpkin
My son loves watching Peppa Pig, so we were excited when we saw that there's a Peppa Pig Halloween book. Peppa and her classmates have a competition and she shows up with the biggest pumpkin. The author is Samantha Lizzio. I think it's adorable that the book is in the shape of a pumpkin. Picture books like this are fun to read and look at.
6. The Berenstain Bears Trick or Treat
The Berenstain Bears books are classics! There are a few different Halloween ones. It's a fun and spooky old story that also teaches kids about right and wrong. It was written by Stan and Jan Berenstain.

7. The Night Before Halloween
Natasha Wing wrote this fun spin-off of The Night Before Christmas. This is a fun bedtime story to read on October 30th. It has monsters in it who are getting ready for trick or treaters.
8. Room On The Broom
Room on the Broom was written by Julia Donaldson. It's a cute story about a witch who gets help from some animals. It's an affordable children's book.
9. There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Bat
Lucille Colandro wrote this Halloween book about an old lady who keeps swallowing crazy things.
10. Goodnight Goon
Goodnight Goon is a Halloween parody of Goodnight Moon. Michael Rex wrote this book.
11. Five Little Pumpkins
This is a quick read by Dan Yaccarino. The words rhyme, which makes it fun to read.
