Mangos have been one of my favorite fruits for at least a decade and I can’t ever get enough of them. I just love mango. Recently Adam and I had dinner at an Indian restaurant and we noticed that everyone there orders these orange/yellow drinks. We looked at the menu to see what it could be and it was a Mango Lassi. Sadly, it’s not vegan because it has yogurt in it.
After looking at the menu a little more we saw that they have a vegan mango smoothie called the Soy Mango. We ordered one and loved it! The texture was so fun and we loved the mango flavor from it. The big downside of the drink is that it was room temperature instead of being cold. We thought, we can make this better at home and actually have it served cold.
So we went to the grocery store to buy the ingredients and figured out a recipe for our very own mango smoothies. By the way, it’s not hard to make a smoothie vegan, like some believe. Vegan smoothies taste amazing and are just as creamy as non dairy ones.

The mango brings such a nice, tropical flavor to this drink that we can’t get enough of. The soy milk adds a creamy element and the ice is what makes it cold and makes it a smoothie.
This has become a go-to dessert in our house! We don’t add any extra sugar to the recipe because we want to keep it more natural and the mango already has a lot of sugar. It is sweet without being overly sweet. It’s not the type of dessert that you have to drink water after eating, which is really nice. We can’t get enough of how healthy, fresh, and delicious this smoothie is.
The soy milk that we chose to use is Organic Soy Dream Soymilk. We get the original classic so that it doesn’t have any added flavoring to it. Shop it here.
This smoothie recipe makes 3-4. It easily serves 3, but you could serve it to 4 people and just have portions that are a little smaller. We like to have a lot to drink to make up for all the effort it takes to cut the mangos though.
Something to try if you want it to be really cold is to make it using frozen mango. We use fresh mango for ours though. Also, if you’re out of soy milk, you could always try making it with almond milk.
Total Time: 15 minutes
Yield: 3-4 smoothies
- 4 Mangos
- 1/2 cup Soy Milk
- 14 Ice Cubes
Cut the 4 mangos and put them in a blender. Add 1/2 cup soy milk and 14 ice cubes to the blender. Blend until it is all mixed and smooth. Ours blended for about 30-45 seconds. Pour in glasses and serve.
Soy milk: 65 calories 7g protein
Mango: 804 calories 11.2g protein
Calories per serving: 434.5
Protein per serving: 9.1g
We love how simple and easy it is to make this smoothie. In my opinion, it’s such a letdown when I see something I want to make, then see that it has a ton of ingredients. I never want to buy a lot of ingredients, then find out that it’s a recipe I don’t even like. So recipes with minimal ingredients are a win for me.
