11 Best Vegan Thanksgiving Recipes

Last Updated On February 10, 2023 by Elizabeth Morgan

Thanksgiving can be hard for vegans because many of the classic dishes are not traditionally vegan. For my first Thanksgiving after going vegan, I went into it planning on not having a lot to eat. Over the years, I’ve been able to make more dishes vegan and enjoy Thanksgiving more than ever.

Here are ten vegan Thanksgiving recipes you have to make this year.

Vegan Thanksgiving Recipe #1 – Pot Pie

Vegan Pot Pie
This vegan pot pie recipe is a favorite in our home for holidays or for a weeknight dinner. It is comforting, delicious, creamy, warm, and loaded with veggies.

#2 – Mashed Potatoes

Mashed Potatoes
If you’re only going to eat one vegan thing on Thanksgiving, it has to be mashed potatoes! They’re the best comfort food to load up on your plate. For this recipe, I recommend switching out the russet potatoes for Yukon Gold. Those are the only potatoes we buy because they have more flavor and we love the skin on them.

#3 – Rolls

Dinner Rolls
Rolls are a staple for Thanksgiving dinner. They’re so good that it’s hard to eat just one. I love putting Smart Balance butter on mine.

#5 – Country Gravy

Country Gravy
I’ve always preferred white country gravy over brown gravy. I love how thick and flavorful it is. It’s so tasty on potatoes or to dip your roll in.

#6 – Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole
I suggest using fresh green beans for this recipe. Adam and I love green bean casserole so much that we make it year round. French fried onions are hands down the best part of green bean casserole.

#9 – Apple Pie

Apple Pie
In my opinion, apple is the best kind of pie. No Thanksgiving is complete without a slice of it. If you’re not up for making one or don’t have time, Costco’s apple pie is vegan!
